How do I clean get stink out of me travel trailer that I live in.. How do I keep them clean. I'm a 70 yr old woman that needs a little help. TIA..
Just follow the instructions in the video for your particular living situation.
What do you mean 2-3 flush cycles? Thank you
A cycle is filling the tank with waste, draining it and flushing it.
@@trbowlin thanks
I live in an RV that never moves! What do I do?
Just use the borax and dawn in every tank for about 2-3 cycles, then use the borax and dawn as needed to stop the smell. Sorry for the delay, I've been fishing and in a no signal zone.
Miracle method!
Thank you!
You answer everybody! I'm about to watch - we are on month 2 of using our rv bathroom and the smell makes NO sense!
I answer everybody 🙂This will fix you up!
Surfactant = surface active agent
Pine Sol mixed with the Borax and LOTS and LOTS of water when you flush ( And each flush when "go"). Good to go.
Thank you so much for this great and helpful video! I am wondering if the soap has to be "Dawn" or can it be any dishwashing soap? I ask becuase my local grocery store only sells 7th generation and Cadia dish soaps.
any dishwashing soap. Shampoo, laundry detergent and dishwasher soap all work. They have the surfactants you need to make it work.
@@trbowlin Great news! Thank you so much!!!
buy the cheapest one.
Thanks very much for this. My fridge is cool again thanks to your video!
Glad I could help!
Wiring kit due here today !
Hey, I clicked on the Amazon link bought the towbar. It literally was here in less than two days and it’s installed. Thank you.
Awesome, Tim. Thanks for your support!
where can we buy the parts
It is available from Amazon here: amzn.to/3ZmB2xe
thank you for replying we have the same fridge and same problem we will do what you taught in this video. We are just waiting for parts
No problem. Thanks for watching.
great video watched the camp guide one for silver creek as well. I saw lovie on the map and instantly said i need to hit that and to hear your comments here Im def gonna hit it up ...great material keep it up! and thanks for the scouting report!
Both Silver Creek and Loving Creek are challenging. The thing is Loving has tons less fishing pressure and most it can be waded. Silver Creek almost requires a float tube to access the best spots. I have a couple other videos from Heyspur on my channel and am planning my inaugural trip in the truck camper I am rebuilding there in the next month or so. Thanks for watching!
Keep on going!
Nice
Oh crap....I turned on the notification..was outside for a bit..then you were already on line by the time I came back inside...I was just thinking about you today! Hope your doing well! 😊
I am doing fine. Sorry to miss you. Hope you are well, also.
Can I combine the super soak and road flush methods? In other words, can I do the super soak at home 1 week before camping and then drive to the campground and dump when I get there? That would essentially do both unless it would cause a problem. I want to make sure that I don't need space in the tank for better sloshing or that I won't cause and problems when driving with a full tank with all that borax, degreaser/dawn mixture.
YES, that would work very well. It will not cause a problem. Thanks for watching!
Dude, you touched the sewer hose and inside of it with your bare hands, no glives, so gross. 🤢
I suppose you put on gloves every time you changed your kids nappy diapers? I'm not dead yet.
@@trbowlin Nope, no kids but I would sanitize, you just rinsed with the same hose you stuck down the sewer hose. Just saying. Better hygiene might go a long way. I did like the video though.
@@nancy27c I do wash my hands after, and the hose I used was at the dump station. I would never mix my fresh water hose with rinsing. Thanks for watching!
Hey TR, my RV is starting to stink like ammonia and septic. It’s coming from under the rv and seeping inside. I’m not sure if there’s leaks from the tanks but for sure there’s stench. (I’ve had it for about 1.5yrs full time living)
Yes, unfortunately there is probably a leak. Does it smell all the time, or come and go? Does your toilet hold water between flushes?
Excellent ..exactly what I was looking for. Video very professionally explicative. Thank you very much .
Glad it was helpful!
I'm new to RV'ing - retired - downloaded your PDF file and saved it for reference - along with your website... Thanks....
Awesome, thank you! Happy Camping!
Where did you find the bubble windows for the camper? Just had a high branch crack my corner window. Also broke the small slider window next to it.
Bummer! I am afraid that the bubble windows are unobtainium. I don't think you'll find replacements. The ones that were on my camper are in good shape. The smaller window should be readily available.
Ive been watching you whole restoration series! I started restoring a 1978 vanguard truck camper. Its been daunting, but your videos gave me the confidence to tackle the project. All the structural work is done. Lots of interior work left and of course putting the siding back on.
Thanks. Glad to have inspired you to keep at it. It's hard to keep going some days, but it sounds like you are ahead of the game if your to the point of siding. I admit to procrastinating about getting back to work on mine this year. I finally put in a good couple days and am ready to load it on the truck and move it for the first time in 2 1/2 years.
Thanks!
Thank you very much! I appreciate your support. Happy Camping
Close to heading out in the truck camper ?
Yes, I need to finish up some solar stuff and a little bit of trim.
getting there. Pretty soon, you will be going camping. Thanks Don
I can't wait. It's been too long.
Cool video. You are so knowledgeable and diverse. Enjoyed the gardening section. One day until I roll the Ole holiday rambler from Missouri to Washington DC!
Thanks, Joy. Keep the shiny side up!
Just picked up an 88 super chief that has some issues. It amazingly runs and drives had to replace the continuous duty solenoid and now I think the starter or alternator are going. But the biggest issue so far it seems are the tanks and the storage containers are filled with debris from squirrels and or other rodents. We had no choice but to use the tanks as is and accidentally overfilled the grey tank. But now we have a macerator and are going to be flushing the black tank this week. Also have a boroscope to inspect wether or not there are any dried waste concrete in the tank definitely. Going to be dumping in a lot of water and soap. The whole thing needs a renovation. I’m guessing a 35 year old p30 rv doesn’t have a level sensor in the tanks? But who knows. I learn more about it every day.
Sounds like a fun project.
@@trbowlin worst case scenario what would be the best way to eradicate any dried fecal concrete in an rv black tank that can’t be driven? I would think that dumping the tank and then filling half the tank of significantly heated water (125-150°f) and maybe putting in a couple aquarium bubblers along with some borax and a beneficial bacteria product could do some good? Short of removal and replacment or removal and cleaning with a pressure washer wand and then reinstalling the cleaned tank that is.
No hot water. That plumbing system is 40+ years old! The tank and valves are not designed to hold hot water. You may damage the system. Time is your friend. Fill the tanks and add 1 cup borax and 1 cup dawn to the black and let it sit for at least a week. Grey tank, 1 cup borax, and 2 cups degreaser *(orange cleaner). Dump, rinse, and repeat until it stops smelling. If you are in a big hurry, watch this section of my newer video on the road scrub ua-cam.com/video/RgCK_wV7TLI/v-deo.html

Hi TR! It's good to see you!
Thanks, Judy. Always nice to hear from you!
It’s looking like you are getting close on the camper! Best wishes, Kevin
Thanks, Kev. It won't be long before I can go camping in it.
@@trbowlin I’ve been re-siding the house. It’s real fun! Using Novik cut stone look.
@@KevinCoop1 Sweet. That project is on my wish list for the front of the house. Not this year though.
How's the camper coming Miss your show
Thanks Scott, your timing is impeccable. I have a vlog style update publishing tonight. Take care!
Did you hold the floor off the wall a 1/2 or did you but it up to the wall did you let it float or did nail it down all around ? Thanks Heath
I left about 1/8" gap around the perimeter and then used a 1/4 round to hide the gap. Thanks for watching Heath!
You need a Vitrazza Glass Chair Mat
Good morning I have a stationary park model Jayco bungalow arrived up there yesterday no water on in the park yet. It looks like the toilet and the septic had gone dry over the winter and smell quite bad with the borax be the solution to get rid of the smell and the trailer and of course, filling it with water to once they turn on the water in the park, thank you.
Yes, add some water if you can get it and add some borax. Borax without water will not stop the stink. Thanks for watching!
At our park, we only have holding tanks in the ground. So the owner has to come pump them out when they're full.He won't be happy with me with all this flushing going on
Once I get a clear doubt will I need to add the campa fresh deodorizer or is that no longer necessary
Once you get them clean the deodorizer is not necessary. Just follow the prescription and you should be good to go in short order!
LEDS failing. We bought some JOYLIT from Amazon. emitters are individually failing over a 2 week period. I am guessing they do not like the heat in the fixture.
bummer. I used the lepro amzn.to/3y99jYm I also bought some more of these to use in the truck camper I am restoring. They seem pretty reliable.
BORAX RESISTANT O-RINGS AND SEALS Boric acid, also known as Borax, is a white, powdery mineral with a slight alkaline taste. It is widely used in cleaning products and as a preservative and insecticide. When rubber is exposed to boric acid, it can cause a hardening and cracking of the rubber material. This can lead to a weakening and embrittlement of the rubber, making it less resilient and more prone to failure. In addition, boric acid's anti-fungal properties can lead to oxidation of the rubber, further reducing its lifespan and efficacy.
Great question! Boric acid and Borax Laundry additive contains the same metal element, borax, but by its very name, boric acid is acidic and can damage some rubber. Borax (Sodium tetraborate) used in laundry additive is basic when dissolved in water. It will not cause any problems with seals and gate valves. My experience is that it has not caused any problems after 7 years of use. Thanks for watching!

Is the borax harmful to the seals and dump gates?

Will the fix work for Samsung refrigerator model RF20HFENBSR? Asking as the defrosting heating element seems to come down much closer to the draining hole in my refrigerator. Thanks!
I'm sorry. I am not familiar with that model, so I can't say for sure.
Great video my floor gasket didn’t have instructions which was top glad I seen this flipped over before I installed it twice!!!😂
Awesome, Chris! Glad to have helped. Thanks for watching!
Very much appreciated video. You are awesome! Very good instruction

Just found your channel! Glad I did. Could the Southwire unit you installed here have been flipped or perhaps rotated 90 degrees so that the line cord didn't have to make the bend? I'm about to install mine and considering the flipping to avoid additional strain on the cord/connection/etc?
With my advancing age, LOL, I don't recall if there were any restrictions on how it was mounted. I don't think it makes any difference. Thanks for watching!
Hey TR! I bought a USED camper, and both black and grey tanks weren't in the best shape. The tank level indicators didn't work reliably at first (especially on the grey tank), but your Bio-Geo method fixed the problems with the indicators, and both tanks are flushing pretty clear now. I am SO GRATEFUL for your wonderful informative video!
Sweet, glad to hear this!
I’ve got an ‘83 truck camper I started gutting…. But since it’s been sitting up the manual jacks won’t even function cause the pins are broke off inside the gears…. Even for a handyman like me it can be hard to know where to begin
here is an insider tip. Start removing screws from the exterior trim, etc. If they are just rusty, you have some water damage but may not be too bad. If they are mostly rusted away or the heads rust or break off, you have major damage and rotten wood. Thanks for watching!
@@trbowlin thanks, I hear ya….. but at this point several lit matches might accidentally find their way inside my camper lol
Ohhh Greg , what has happened to the Festival I opened for you years ago ??? Truly downhill .
